Vivian Ferrell
Vivian is pursuing a B.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry at SDSU. She is currently working with Mariam Basilaia on developing atroposelective methodologies for pyrazolopyrimidines. Vivian plans to attend graduate school after she graduates. Vivian likes to go to the beach and play with her hamster in her spare time.
Madeline Rougier
Madeline is pursuing a BS in Chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry. She is currently working with Beeta Heydari on evaluating and developing selective kinase inhibitors for diseases such as cancer. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and listening to rock and roll music.
Penelope Dalton
Penelope is pursuing a bachelor’s in chemistry with an emphasis in biochemistry and minoring in interdisciplinary studies. She is also pre-med track. She is currently working with Gavin Rustin on developing a method for synthesizing a trifluoromethyl delivery photosensitizer. Penelope loves to read, go outside, and hang out with friends.
Angeline Philip
Angeline is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Biology. She is working with Bahar Heydari on the synthesis of atroposelective kinase inhibitors. In her free time, she likes to play Animal Crossing and try new coffee shops.
Benjamin Holdbrook-Smith
Benjamin is pursuing a bachelor’s with an emphasis in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He is currently working with Beeta Heydari on evaluating and developing select kinase inhibitors. Outside of the lab, he likes weightlifting, cooking, and playing basketball.
Avery Begley
Avery is pursuing a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Three Departments (IS3D) with a focus on Chemistry, Environmental Science, and Spanish. She is currently working with Bahar Heydari on the synthesis of atroposelective kinase inhibitors. Outside of school, Avery likes to read and go to the beach.
Alyssa Gomez
Alyssa is pursuing a B.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry and a minor in Honors Interdisciplinary Studies. She is currently working with Beeta Heydari to assist in the synthesis of selective diarylamine kinase inhibitors, where she mainly focuses on optimizing reaction conditions and evaluating if a synthetic step is successful. Outside of the lab, Alyssa likes to meditate, listen to live music, and explore new places with friends.
